Hunter Douglas QuadroClad Rainscreen
Description

Hunter Douglas QuadroClad Aluminium is ventilated rainscreen system. Aluminium honeycomb structure sandwiched between aluminium skin. The external skin is 1.0mm thick, and the internal skin is 0.5mm thick. The skins and honeycomb are bonded together with a durable adhesive to create a panel designed to withstand high pressure and sheer forces.

The panels are available in a range of sizes up to a maximum of 1550mm wide x 6000mm long. They are also available in thickness of 10mm to 35mm.

Scope of Use
  • In wind zones up to and including very high as designed in NZS 3604:2011 or to a wind design pressure (ULS) of (conversion 2000 N/m2) to 2.0 kPa.
  • In all exposure zones as defined in NZS 3604:2011
  • On buildings any proximity to a relevant boundary
  • In conjunction with a primary structure that complied with the NZ Building Code or where the deisgner or installer have satisfied themselves that the existing structure is suitable for the intended work
Limitations on Use
  • Wind pressure allowed determined by the length of the horizontal span modules as prescribed in the QuadroClad Facades Technical Brochure
  • Where QuadroClad is used on a building with an exposed eaves detail or where adverse microclimatic conditions (as set out in paragraph 4.2.4. NZS 3604:2011) apply, contact a Jacobsen representative for technical advice.
  • The QuadroClad Facade systems must be installed in accordance with NFPA 285 testing and Intertek evaluation
  • QuadroClad is an open rainscreen so must be installed over a rigid, moisture resistive air barrier that complies with the NZ Building Code. 
Statement of Building Code Compliance

B1 Structure: B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3(a), (b), (c), (f), (h), (i), (j), (m).

  • Tested to ECCA test method to withstand a 1.5T bend through 180 degrees without damage.
  • Seismic performance of a facade wall. Sirve evaluation (January 2008), DICTUC accredited.

B2 Durability: B2.3.1 (a), B2.3.2 (a).

  • Tested by BDA Advises of a facade EN ISO: 2012. Corrosion metals and alloys.

C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: C3.4 (a), C3.5, C3.7 (a).

  • Tested by SIrm QAS to Bs476: Parts 6 1989 + AI: 2009 and Part 7 1997. Achieved material 1 rating.
  • SIRM QAS is ILAC-MRa accredited
  • Tested by Intertek to CAN/ULC-3134-13 and NFPA 285
  • Aluminium is non-combustible (refer definitions C/AS2 June 2019, ist Edition)
