Over time Zinc ages gracefully, developing an attractive grey carbonate patina which protects the surface against corrosion. Modern technologies allow us to reproduce this natural process in a pre-weathered Zinc Titanium alloy, avoiding the need to wait years for the patina to develop. Modern Zinc is alloyed with small quantities of Titanium, Copper & Aluminium resulting in an extremely malleable material which gives designers scope to create complex architectural shapes for today’s buildings.

The Finish

Titan Zinc has a smooth slightly grained surface finish which is the result of a chemical process that accelerates the formation of Zinc’s beautiful grey patina. This natural protective coating forms as a barrier between the elements and the base alloy below. One of the wonderful aspects of this protective layer is its ability to “self heal” if damaged. Armed with it’s protective patina from the start, pre-weathered Zinc effectively offers peace of mind to designers in a wide variety of environments. This attractive neutral finish blends effortlessly with a variety of commonly used building materials such as wood, glass and concrete.
