Aspen Canopy for Residential Environments
Description

ASPEN canopies are non-obtrusive. ASPEN is the perfect solution to protect people from the weather when they come and go from their homes.

Key Features
  • Tie Rods used in conjunction with the wall mounted brackets suspend the glass in mid-air as it is floating, leaving the entrance way feeling opened and not confined
  • Many different Viridian glass types can provide you with improved light transmission and cleaning attributes
  • ASPEN canopies can be pitched to any angle to help with water runoff; a gutter can be attached to the glass or fixed to the wall to help water drain away
Scope of Use
  • ASPEN can be used in areas with a maximum wind pressure of 1.76kPa (Very High Wind Zone) and a Maximum Snow Load of 1kPa.

ASPEN is designed to be fixed to:

  • Steel structures
  • Structural timber facades
  • Concrete facades

Heavyweight ASPEN canopy is designed to take:

  • 15mm Viridian toughened safety glass
    or
  • 17.5mm Viridian toughened SENTRYGLAS laminated safety glass
Limitations on Use
  • Solid and Rigid framework needs to be taken into consideration with designing an ASPEN canopy system
  • The tie rods and wall mounts need to fixed into a solid structure that is designed to take the relevant loads
  • A structural engineer will need to ensure the structure to which the ASPEN system is fixed to is suitable
  • SENTRYGLAS must be used if the ASPEN system is 5m or greater from the finished floor level

A structural engineer will need to ensure the structure to which the ASPEN system is fixed to is suitable.

This proprietary canopy system complies with New Zealand Building Code Clauses:

  • B1 Structure

Other Performance Attributes

SENTRYGLAS is a toughened laminated glass that has a rigid interlayer. The SENTRYGLAS interlayer provides added safety, in the unlikely event of both the toughened glass panes breaking; the SENTRYGLAS interlayer will hold the toughened glass fragments together stopping them from falling to the floor or over people that may be under the glass.
