Waitakere Architects specified the two products from Kermac Industries for Peninsula Primary School and Bucklands Beach Primary School in Auckland.

Stability, scratch resistance, splash water resistance and flame retardant properties are among the positive characteristics of the K-Compact's natural wood material. It provides an aesthetically pleasing look with a stylish range of 13 colours, and features a paddle shift locking system, adjustable pedestals, bolt through security fixings, spring loaded hinges and cast polished hardware. 

"With school bathrooms and toilet blocks in general being unforgiving environments, our partition system is a perfect fit", notes Kerry McAuliffe, Kermac's managing director. "It provides the necessary features such as impact and graffiti resistance with low maintenance requirements long term while keeping a tight budget in mind."

KerMac also supplied the new Permanent K-Wall Lining System to complement their cubicles at Bucklands Beach Primary School.

The Permanent K-Wall Lining System is a 6mm phenolic resin compact bonded directly to the wall, and is available in White, Light Grey and Almond colours, with an extended range of over 40 colours on order. Its sheet size is an easy to handle 2440 x 1240mm, while KerMac is able to provide either white PVC jointers or powder coated aluminium jointers to match your chosen sheet colour.

"This system is now a very viable option in terms of cost when compared to more traditional wall linings and we expect its popularity to increase rapidly as we educate the market of its benefits," adds McAuliffe.
