Sheetrock Taping Ready-Mixed Joint Compound

Sheetrock Brand Ready-Mixed Joint Compounds contain vinyl binders and other ingredients that provide performance superior to that of ordinary ready-mixed products. Blended to a creamy, smooth consistency, United States Gypsum Company vinyl-based formulations give excellent slip and bond and easy workability. They can be used directly from the container, and require only minimal mixing, thinning, and retempering. Joint finishing is fast, easy, and smooth, reducing labour costs and improving appearance and quality of the job.

Key Features
  • Ready-mixed for minimal mixing, thinning, retempering
  • Smooth application, long-lasting performance
  • Coverage is approximately 61.0 to 73.2 kg for 100 sq. m. of plasterboard

Scope of Use

Sheetrock Taping Ready-Mixed Joint Compound is used for embedding joint tape, finishing drywall, and hand-applying simple texturing. It is also ideal for patching plaster cracks and for use on most gypsum board when maximum bond and crack resistance are essential.

Limitations on Use

Protect container from freezing and extreme heat.

Prior to using any epoxy coating over any surface treated with joint compound, consult the epoxy coating manufacturer and follow manufacturer’s specific recommendations regarding the preparation or suitability of substrates for the epoxy coating. Many epoxy coatings exert significant shear stress on the substrate as the strong epoxy film shrinks while curing/drying. This stress can cause the bond of the joint compound to fail, resulting in delamination problems.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Sheetrock Taping Redy-Mixed Joint Compound meets ASTM Standard C475.
