Description

A one component, water borne premium acrylic topcoat.

PPG Architectural Coatings WeatherTough Exterior is a self-priming water borne coating that provides protection for exterior surfaces, as well as total UV blockout and dirt shedding technology.

Scope of Use

WeatherTough Exterior is used as a premium low sheen, semi-gloss or gloss topcoat on exterior walls, trim and roofs including new timber, galvanised iron, Zincalume, concrete and cement render. Also used on suitably primed steel. Gloss or semi-gloss finish is recommended for roofs. 

Suitable for surfaces that collect drinking water.

Limitations on Use
  • Do not use at temperatures below 10°C, above 35°C or when humidity is excessive
  • Not designed for direct application to metal. Use Rustguard metal primer for first coat
  • Tannin rich timbers such as cedar should be primed with PPG 3 in 1 or an oil based primer
  • Will not penetrate chalky and powdery surfaces
  • Not to be used on doors, door trim or opening sashes. Use PPG Ultimate Enamel
