Description

Clay bricks are one of the oldest and most trusted sustainable building materials. Available in a variety of colours and face textures, this range is 290mm long x 162mm high x 70mm wide.

Able to be used on all buildings; stand alone homes, townhouses and multi storey buildings, clay bricks are renowned for their strength and longevity, needing little to no maintenance to continue looking great for years to come.

  • The natural insulating properties moderate the extremes in building temperatures, keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter, reducing energy consumption
  • The heavy mass of clay bricks results in them being effective acoustic insulation, blocking outside noise from entering the dwelling

Scope of Use
  • Clay Brick veneer can be used on interior and exterior walls for residential and commercial buildings
  • It is best utilised to achieve an architecturally strong look that is aesthetically pleasing
Limitations on Use
  • Construction on concrete ground floors
  • Timber framing constructed in accordance with NZS3604
  • General veneer height of 7.5m max. Excluding gables and piers, above this ‘specific engineering design’ is required
  • If veneer is being plastered, up to 20mm thickness may be applied to a total weight of 180kg/m2 maximum
  • Studs at 400mm centres
  • Brick Veneers can be used with buildings designed to have floor loadings of up to 3.0 kPa capacity
  • For use with a cavity of 40-60mm in width
  • Control joints are not required with clay bricks
  • The scope limitations of NZBCAcceptable Solution E2/AS1 Paragraph 1.1 in terms of floor area, and with a maximum of 2 stories
  • Veneer weight not to exceed 180 kg/m² (will accommodate 90 mm thick veneers)
  • Building in wind zones up to and including 'Very High'. Wind bracing demand must be calculated in accordance with NZS3604
