ARDEX Remedial Roofing System

ARDEX WeldTec Remedial Roofing System is suitable for imperfect substrates, or substrates with residual moisture. ARDEX WPM 717 is fleece-backed to provide excellent means of ventilation and bonding to various substrates. The welding process ensures a fast installation and added security.

Scope of Use

As waterproofing membrane for roofs and decks within the following scope:
Site conditions:

  • All exposure zones excluding microclimates (para 4.2, NZS3604:2011) 
  • Up to 6.0kPa ULS pressure differential.

Buildings that meet the following:

  • For new buildings that comply with the structural requirements of the New Zealand Building Code, taking into account all applied loads specific to the building.
  • In existing buildings where the designer and installer have assured themselves that the existing building is suitable for intended building work
  • Where the substrate is as follows: plywood, concrete, existing substrates as follows: concrete, bitumen roofs, polyurethane foams, plywood, malthoid, old rigid bitumen, tongue & groove or butt joined sarking
  • For a trafficable surface the membrane is protected
  • Green roofs or roofs where loose laid ballast has been applied
  • Decks and roofs may be of any slope or size provided that the designer has assured themselves that the structure and substrate have been designed to allow for all applied loads and that water will shed to avoid the risk of ponding
Limitations on Use
  • Must be installed to the ARDEX technical literature
  • Must be installed by an ARDEX approved installer
  • Test welds must be completed at start of work
  • If used on decks the membrane must be protected

If specified, installed and maintained in accordance with the conditions of this Product Technical Statement, the ARDEX WPM 717 WeldTec Membrane System will comply with or contribute to compliance with:

In-Service History

ARDEX WPM 717 fleece-backed membrane is still new to the waterproofing industry, being manufactured in Christchurch, New Zealand.  However, this hasn't stopped it from already going abroad and being installed on a major high-end appartment building in Cronulla, Australia.
