Terca Bricks Bring Old World Charm to Rooftop Dining Area

Stellaria is very excited to supply the beautiful Rustical Peruwelz brick ‘Oud Beauvoorde’ for the new rooftop dining area at Westfield Newmarket — one of Wienerberger’s classic bricks.

‘Oud Beauvoorde’ was chosen by Scentre interior designers and architects for its unmistakable colour blend as well as its deep texture and warmth. The brick has been adopted by each restaurant owner to be used in a distinctive and unique way reflecting its versatility and presence.

The Oud Beauvoorde brick blends tradition, durability and longevity. Often called recycled or reclaimed brick, Terca bricks are manufactured in some of Belgium's oldest kilns to create an aged look of old architecture. Rustic and enduring, these soft mud bricks provide a soft, warm brick aesthetic without compromising on technical performance, durability or compressive strength.

Soft mud brick moulding actually covers a number of manufacturing processes where bricks are formed using mould boxes. Hand-making involves the forming of the clay by hand, coating in sand and throwing into a mould. Machine manufacturing of soft mud bricks follows the processes of hand-making, recreating the hand-thrown technique by throwing the clay into sanded moulds using belts.

Stelliaria is proud to be part of this gorgeous concept they know people just love — it's all about time, loving life and slowing down to take the moments.
