Acoustic Wood Flooring Adhesive

It is a well-known fact that noise can impact the health, safety, and wellbeing of building occupants. This is especially evident in high density residential and commercial buildings.

With every new challenge that can affect the wellbeing of the building occupants, the typical industry response is to provide a solution by introducing a particular remedial product. With multiple challenges, the number of remedial products is also accumulating. For example, for the very same flooring surface, it is often necessary to apply various products: moisture barrier, sound-reducing mat, and adhesive that needs to be strong enough but also elastic so that natural flooring material can express typical dimensional dynamics without compromising its structural integrity. By applying multiple products over the same surface, the amount of cumulative time and associated costs are not an ideal scenario for effective and productive installation, especially across large surfaces or multi-storey residential and commercial projects.

Having in mind the multiple challenges facing the installation of the solid wood and engineered wood flooring products, a special multi-purpose single-use compound was developed by Australian company Sublime Flooring, and L&L Products — the US-based world-leading applied engineering and material science company. Following the strategy to develop lighter, stronger and quieter products, the companies developed Acouslime 4in1 — acoustic, moisture barrier, elastic adhesive for solid and engineered wood flooring products.

Acouslime 4in1 is suitable for all solid and engineered wood flooring species according to UNI EN 13556. It is also suitable for radiant heat systems without primer.

Acouslime 4in1 has been awarded the highest possible EMICODE Green Product Certification – EC1 Plus, which is given to products with no or with very low emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).

Acouslime 4in1 has been successfully tested for its acoustic properties (with L’ntw of 43dB) and water vapour permeability characteristics. The adhesive has been used in both Australia and New Zealand over the last two years across many residential and commercial projects.

Acouslime 4in1 is available in New Zealand exclusively from PAVEEZZI NZ Limited, wholesale provider of architectural products and solutions.
