Pacbld offer systems designed to exceed the performance requirements of the NZBC with an emphasis on weathertightness and fire performance. Pacbld systems offer low maintenance prefinished cladding options which means less ongoing costs for owners in body corporate situations.
XpressClad PX20 and PX40
These two systems were designed to offer significantly more ventilation to the cladding cavity than is required under the code, which ensures durability of the cladding panels beyond 50 years. PX20 has a 20mm cavity and PX40 has 40mm. The increased ventilation has several benefits other than allowing for better dry capacity of moisture and vapour away from the building. It also prevents the building from suffering excess thermal gain. Another major advantage is that the systems enable windows to be recessed keeping them in from the cooling effect of being out over a cavity like the majority of other cladding systems. XpressClad has several high density prefinished panel options (Swisspearl, Silbonit & Parklex). Generic PS1 producer statements support the system's compliance.
This system is a 15mm bevel backed fibre cement weatherboard which is an acceptable solution that has no restriction on LRV like timber weatherboards so enables any colour option. Compliance is provided by means of a BRANZ appraisal.
XpressClad has been tested to large scale facade test BS8414-2 and passed BR135 criteria to support its use on projects over 10 metres in height. Pacbld has a BRANZ technical opinion that also supports their other claddings. Fire resistance testing is available to support fire ratings on all XpressClad systems up to 120/120/120
Pacbld Systems use cavity fire barriers (CFB) at each floor level within the cavity and around openings (if required).
An in-house technical team is available to support specifiers, plus out-sourced facade engineering support is available if required when non-standard details need support to satisfy council.
Pacbld’s cladding systems include product mostly sourced offshore, but they have excellent forecasting systems to ensure they have product for projects where specifiers involve them prior to consenting. Early collaboration is the key to successful outcomes onsite.
