Underfloor Heating Underlays for Wooden Floors and Carpet

Duralay Heatflow sponge rubber underlays for carpet and wooden floors are premium underlays designed specifically for use with underfloor heating. They incorporate Thermilyn technology and allow for excellent thermal conductivity.

It is important to fit an underlay which is specifically designed for use with underfloor heating.

Duralay Heatflow sponge rubber underlay is available for both carpet and wood/laminate floors. Both underlays are designed with ultra-low thermal tog ratings (tog, used in the textile industry, is the equivalent of an R value). In selecting an underlay to install over underfloor heating, you are looking for the least thermal resistance (tog/R) possible to allow the warmth of the underfloor heating to radiate though, maximising its benefits.

Fitting the wrong underlay will insulate the heat under the flooring, and fitting no underlay will significantly reduce the comfort, durability and acoustic properties.

Duralay Heatflow carpet underlay is designed specifically for underfloor heating under carpets and has a low rating of 0.75 tog/R, enabling it to deliver maximum heat flow.

Duralay Heatflow wooden and laminate flooring underlay is manufactured perfectly for use for underfloor heating under wooden or laminate floors, and similar to its sister product has a low rating of 0.33 tog/R.

Typical New Zealand carpet underlay has a tog/R value of 2.00 to 2.8.

Both of the  Duralay Heatflow underlays are made from high density sponge rubber which keeps noise to a minimum, adding to the acoustic properties of the room.
