Creating Colour Contrasts with Brass

There is a strong trend towards bolder use of colour in interiors, especially indigo blues and emerald greens which makes the contrasting colour of brass fittings a perfect fit.

LED lighting offers brighter, whiter light, making darker colours easier to place on walls and cabinetry. Tapware and cabinet handles in brass offer a way to add contrast, in a situation where a chrome or nickel fitting would reflect the dark colour and lose impact. Similarly, fittings in black are lost against a dark palette.

The popularity of bare brass fittings is stronger than ever with homeowners wanting artisan products that sit well alongside other natural materials such as timber and stone and which add this colour variation and warmth to the scheme.

Perrin & Rowe offer all their taps and accessories in either polished or satin brass. These can be paired with Hawthorn Hill custom towel rails and basin stand vanities in the same finish. Hardware for cabinetry can be selected from the small range of classical handles by Perrin & Rowe or the classical and contemporary collections from Armac Martin.
