Quail Ridge Features Range of Architectural Roofing Styles

For Kiwi seniors wanting to live their twilight years in style, there’s a lot to like about Quail Ridge Country Club.

Situated near Rainbow Falls on the outskirts of Kerikeri, the development offers residents genuine choice in architectural styles and living options, as well as comprehensive care in an idyllic Bay of Islands setting.

Range of roof designs

Partnering with Tauranga’s Insight Architecture, Quail Ridge management have worked hard to offer a range of looks, layouts and size options.

Roof design contributes to the individuality in a big way, with some gable roofs featuring large, expansive faces, while others feature more complex networks of hips, ridges and junctions — or interesting changes in pitch. Vents, skylights, and large feature chimneys are also seen throughout.

Project Manager Alwin Roessler explains why Gerard met Quail Ridge’s needs: “The main consideration for Quail Ridge in selecting a partner was that we wanted to provide options from a single roofing supplier where residents could choose colours, textures and different styles, and Gerard Roofs certainly ticked all the boxes for that.”

For Alwin, Gerard’s value goes beyond product: “Gerard has been a very good partner for us in our development. They’ve provided us fantastic service and support.”

Profiles, colours and textures to match

Known for its versatility and ability to gel with various types of cladding, it’s no surprise that Gerard Corona is the dominant look throughout, having been chosen with stone, plaster and weatherboard options.

For those wanting something more classic, designers have opted for Gerard Colortile, and Gerard Tuffcoat for roofs that are distinctively tile in appearance, yet light and durable.

As for colour and texture, a couple of Colortile designs make a strong statement in the satin option of Obsidian, while textured light and dark greys, as well as browns, are popular throughout.

Performance, installation speed the icing on the cake

Kerikeri’s Bryant Roofing is the Gerard Certified Roofer in charge of installation, and owner Nigel Bryant says the right call has been made for the local climate: “With the extreme weather we have up in the North here, with the rain, the wind and intense UV, Gerard’s been the ideal system for Quail Ridge. Gerard is light, it’s quick to install and it’s got a great warranty, so it’s been a great product to deal with.”

Nigel and his team have managed over 40 installations so far, completing most jobs inside three days.
