The new Tauranga Crossing shopping centre in Bay of Plenty will give locals exciting new options for shopping, dining and entertainment. Modern materials were specified throughout construction to ensure an attractive and long-lasting building.
For the roof of the building, Cavibat Roof Ventilation Battens were chosen to provide effective passive ventilation on various parts of the complex. The battens were specified in a 90mm width to provide a stable platform base for the Dimondek 630 concealed clip profile roofing. The BRANZ appraised Roof Ventilation Battens ensure passive ventilation by providing an unobstructed pathway for air to flow under the roof between purlins. Low, medium and high flow roof cavity closers have been used in conjunction to regulate airflow, providing the optimum system balance.
Designed to create air flow ventilation in the roof space, Cavibat Roof Ventilation Battens are ideal for skillion roof construction, where there is a greater risk of moisture in the roof space. The battens are supplied in 45mm and 90mm widths as standard. As an NZ-based manufacturer, Cavibat is also happy to work with architects and designers to provide custom sizes for projects.
In addition to the custom roofing battens, Cavibat also supplied standard 45mm cladding battens for the project. The Cavibat Cladding Battens were installed between the metal wall profiles and rigid air barrier, ensuring passive ventilation of the cladding.
The combination of Cavibat Cladding and Roofing Ventilation battens has ensured a long-lasting, low maintenance building that is well equipped to deal with moisture.
