The Permatec Hot Melt Waterproofing System provides a fully bonded, tough, flexible waterproof membrane for a range of applications including flat roofs (down to 0 degrees), inverted roofs, podiums, balconies and green roofs.
The system comprises Permatec hot melt waterproofing compounds (a specially formulated combination of refined bitumen, synthetic rubbers, fillers and other additives) which are hot applied in conjunction with carefully selected reinforcement/detailing fabrics and protection layers to provide monolithic waterproofing.
As a hot melt system, Permatec offers excellent toughness, flexibility and adhesion over a wide range of temperatures beyond those normally associated with conventional bitumens and asphalts. The system is also self-healing and features outstanding durability — lasting the lifetime of the building — making it an ideal low maintenance option for commercial buildings.
The Permatec Hot Melt Waterproofing System is fast and easy to install, helping save time and labour costs on projects. While perfect for large commercial buildings, the speed of installation also lends itself to smaller areas, such as domestic balconies.
Hot melt systems have been installed successfully in the UK for over 40 years, and for added peace of mind, the Permatec system has been CodeMark certified — providing assurance that it meets the stringent requirements of the NZBC.
The Permatec system’s debut application in New Zealand will be on the redevelopment of Westfield Newmarket at 309 Broadway, where it has been specified for planters and green areas, in conjunction with Asphaltech’s mastic asphalt system which will be used for the podium.
Specialists in mastic asphalt and waterproofing systems, Asphaltech are proud to bring the Permatec system to New Zealand. They are happy to work with designers to create custom specifications using either the Permatec or Asphaltech systems or a combination of both to best suit project requirements.
