Corian Solid Surface and the Environment

Corian Solid Surface is made up of an advanced blend of two-thirds natural minerals and one-third acrylic resin, that cannot be replicated by any other conventional materials. Corian Solid Surface is repairable, renewable and can last for decades, which minimises the need to replace or dispose of it. Corian can be reworked to create new designs and products, generating up to one-third less waste than stone in the fabrication process.

Corian is chemically inert and non-toxic, meeting the most restrictive “food zone” standards, making it the perfect material to use across both commercial and residential applications especially in areas such as kitchens where food contact is constant.

DuPont carefully manages the impact that Corian has on the environment through responsible choices in raw materials, manufacturing processes and packaging.

Corian Solid Surface has the Greenguard Gold – UL2818 Standard for Chemical Emissions for Building materials, Finishes and Furnishings certification.

Not only does Corian Solid Surface possess many unique characteristics including being durable and tough, easy to clean, non-porous, repairable and seamless, but it is also simply beautiful to live with.
