Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation
Description

Pink Batts Skillion Roof insulation is light-­weight, flexible glass wool insulation that thermally insulates modern ‘lean-to’ style ceilings and low profile roof designs with restricted roof cavities.  It is designed to provide insulation to the levels required to meet the New Zealand Building Code while still providing the ventilation required to prevent moisture build up in these types of construction.

Pink Batts Skillion roof is designed to be used in skillion roof constructions while still achieving the minimum 25mm clearance between the roof underlay and insulation in new buildings and retrofits of existing ceilings.

  • Skillion Roof R3.2 - 1220mm x 432mm, nominal stabilised thickness of 115mm
  • Skillion Roof R3.6 - 1220mm x 432mm, nominal stabilised thickness of 165mm
Scope of Use

Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation has been appraised as a thermal insulation material for skillion roofs within the following scope:

  • domestic and commercial timber-framed skillion roofs where the insulation remains dry during its serviceable life; and,
  • as part of an insulation system to contribute to meeting the energy efficiency and other NZBC insulation requirements
Limitations on Use

Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's Technical Literature to meet the stated thermal performance rating of the insulation.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

In the opinion of BRANZ, Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation, if designed, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of Appraisal No. 767 (2012), will meet or contribute to meeting the following provisions of the NZBC:

  • Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1(a) not less than 50 years and B2.3.1(b) 15 years. Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation will meet this requirement.
  • Clause E3 INTERNAL MOISTURE: Performance E3.3.1. Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation will contribute to meeting this requirement.
  • Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1. Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation meets this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people.
  • Clause H1 ENERGY EFICIENCY: Performance H1.3.1(a) and H1.3.2 E. Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation will contribute to meeting these requirements.

Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation has been appraised as an Acceptable Solution in terms of New Zealand Building Code compliance. Pink Batts Skillion Roof Insulation thermal resistance (R-Value) has been determined by AS/NZS 4859.1 which is an acceptable method.
