Dimond is forever Dimond continually looks to improve the environmental sustainability of its product offering. Recently, Dimond released the Durolite HeatGuard, supporting this focus of its business. Durolite HeatGuard products have infrared ray-reflecting additives in the gel coat. These reduce heat without losing light transmission and also block 99% of the harmful ultraviolet UVa and UVb rays. Using this energy-efficient product as roofing or cladding significantly reduces cooling and lighting costs in commercial and residential buildings. Click here for more information. RHEEM Heat Pump is full of hot air The Rheem Heat Pump uses ambient air temperature as the fuel source to heat the water. Air is drawn through a series of evaporator coils where heat is absorbed by refrigerant gas, and compressed to produce even more heat, which is then transferred into the cold water by way of a flat-plate heat exchanger. Utilising a readily available renewable resource means that for every 1kW of electricity used to run the heat pump, approximately 3kW of hot water is produced.
