Dimond is forever
Dimond continually looks to improve the environmental sustainability of its product offering. Recently, Dimond released the Durolite HeatGuard, supporting this focus of its business. Durolite HeatGuard products have infrared ray-reflecting additives in the gel coat. These reduce heat without losing light transmission and also block 99% of the harmful ultraviolet UVa and UVb rays. Using this energy-efficient product as roofing or cladding significantly reduces cooling and lighting costs in commercial and residential buildings.

RHEEM Heat Pump is full of hot air
The Rheem Heat Pump uses ambient air temperature as the fuel source to heat the water. Air is drawn through a series of evaporator coils where heat is absorbed by refrigerant gas, and compressed to produce even more heat, which is then transferred into the cold water by way of a flat-plate heat exchanger. Utilising a readily available renewable resource means that for every 1kW of electricity used to run the heat pump, approximately 3kW of hot water is produced. This can mean up to a 70% saving in energy required to supply hot water over other standard water heating options.

Specifying for sustainability with Resene
The Resene Specifying for Sustainability seminars run throughout April and May nationwide. Attendees will earn 10 CPD points. The two-hour seminars aim to demystify systems, products and tools that help specifiers make sustainable decisions.

Humble kiwi beginnings
Eastbourne builder Ted Nightingale started Resene in 1946, when he needed an alkaki-resistant paint to cover his concrete buildings. There was nothing available at the time, so in typical Kiwi style he developed his own - in a cement mixer in his garage! In response to demand from other builders, Ted began producing his paint on a commercial basis under the brand name Stipplecote.
