Welcome to the April edition of ebossNOW
We're proud to support Buy New Zealand Made month with this
special edition of ebossNOW. The Buy New Zealand Made campaign
was started in 1988 to encourage consumers and organisations
to buy New Zealand goods and services wherever possible. We
profile some of the suppliers on eboss whose products are kiwi
made in our special "Buy Kiwi Made" section of this issue.
Want a sneak preview of the latest offering from Autodesk®? eboss was at the Salesoft launch of Autodesk 09 Revit Architecture & AutoCAD. Check out our comprehensive video footage of the Revit Architecture highlights in
Building Voices. Next month's issue of ebossNOW you will not want to miss. Not only will we profile AutoCAD 09, but Roger Morrison, from the progressive Morrison Architects, talks about his learning curve with Revit Architecture - this is a must watch for current or prospective Revit users.
This month we welcome GIB®, 3M, The Heating Company, Ecoglo and introduce Viridian to eboss. Our library
keeps on growing, if you know of other companies that you
would like to see on eboss, please let us know.
Kind regards
Matthew Duder

RHEEM Heat Pump is full of hot air The Rheem Heat
Pump uses ambient air temperature as the fuel source to
heat the water. Air is drawn through a series of
evaporator coils where heat is absorbed by refrigerant
gas, and compressed to produce even more heat, which is
then transferred into the cold water by way of a
flat-plate heat exchanger. Utilising a readily available
renewable resource means that for every 1kW of
electricity used to run the heat pump, approximately 3kW
of hot water is produced. This can mean up to a 70%
saving in energy required to supply hot water over other
standard water heating options.

Humble kiwi beginnings Eastbourne builder Ted
Nightingale started Resene in 1946, when he needed an
alkaki-resistant paint to cover his concrete buildings.
There was nothing available at the time, so in typical
Kiwi style he developed his own - in a cement mixer in
his garage! In response to demand from other builders,
Ted began producing his paint on a commercial basis
under the brand name Stipplecote.

Surprisingly kiwi Nu-Wall is often asked where
its products come from, as most people assume they're
manufactured overseas and imported into New Zealand.
When they hear that the aluminium is extruded in
Taranaki and Hamilton, with finishes applied to order in
Auckland, people tend to be pleasantly surprised.
Nu-Wall was developed by New Zealanders for the New
Zealand market around 20 years ago. Since then it has
